Silver solo drills from Paul Wagner
I asked Paul Wagner if he had any suggestions for George Silver footwork and cutting combinations, for my group’s explorations of backsword. He responded by making me a video! It’s posted on the Stoccata YouTube channel. Thank you, Paul!
I took notes on the instruction and put them here.
I appreciate forms as a training tool. They provide a memory aid, can serve as a basis for solo practice at different speeds and focus variations, and when connected with realistic applications, can be an effective tool for preparing for resistant drills with a partner.
Anyway, what a great little mini-curriculum for my club’s early explorations into Silver.
One thing I am noticing is that these applications seem to connect fluently to escrima concepts… more on that later!
